Baa-rilliant Beginnings: Kicking Off the School Year with Goats!
We’re off to a fantastic start this school year!
The children returned full of enthusiasm, eager to reconnect with friends and explore their new classes. They quickly adapted to the routines of school life, and it’s hard to believe that the summer holidays are already a distant memory.
This year, we have ambitious plans in store! Over the summer, we reorganised our classroom spaces, sparking fresh ideas and creating an environment where our young learners can thrive and develop a curiosity about the world around them.
Our dedicated staff has worked hard to design a curriculum that aligns with the Early Years Foundation Stage and the National Curriculum, all while weaving in our school’s values and ethos across all subjects.
Our school values
The children have created some wonderful artwork and took part in meaningful games and activities all linked to our 5 school values.
As the new school year unfolds, it’s the perfect time to introduce our vibrant school values:
Respectful Robins,
Kind Hedgehogs,
Collaborative Bees,
Curious Foxes, and
Resilient Rabbits.
These values are not just words; they form the heart of our learning environment, guiding our interactions and shaping our school community.
Navigating relationships is an essential skill for children. Our values encourage students to communicate effectively, empathise with others, and work as a team. For instance, when our Kind Hedgehogs show compassion, they foster friendships that can last a lifetime.
Curious Foxes inspire students to ask questions and seek knowledge, fostering a love of learning that extends beyond the classroom.
In a world that increasingly values collaboration and adaptability, skills like resilience and teamwork are crucial. By cultivating these traits in school, we prepare our students to face challenges with confidence and creativity.
Throughout the year, we’ll celebrate students who exemplify these values. When a child demonstrates the spirit of a Respectful Robin by showing kindness to classmates or helps others as a Collaborative Bee, we recognise these behaviors to reinforce their importance. This celebration not only acknowledges individual achievements but also inspires peers to embody these values in their daily lives.
We also kicked off the term with some excitement in the playground! During our first week, we welcomed some friendly goats for the children to meet and learn about, perfectly setting the stage for our upcoming focus on the beloved story, The Three Billy Goats Gruff.
As we move through the next few weeks, we have a packed schedule of activities planned to keep our students inspired and engaged.
Here’s to a wonderful school year ahead!
